Fisk brace seals Alveston cup win

Alveston started the match with confidence, having plenty of possession which enabled frequent attacks. Jacob Young and Tristan Day were threatening from the wings while Stephen Rickett and Will Foley fought hard in central midfield to maintain possession. It was Tristan Day who set up the first goal when he ran with the ball out of the Alveston defence all the way deep into the Morton half before passing to 'Man of the Match' Callum Fisk, who's powerful low shot found the bottom left corner of the net beating the diving keeper. Callum made it 2-0 shortly afterwards, directly from a Morton goal kick. The keeper kicked the ball directly to Callum who controlled the ball before his long range left foot shot beat the keeper who still hadn't made it back into his goal mouth. Just before half time Morton reduced the score deficit, from a poor Alveston clearance a Morton player shot from range beating the Alveston keeper. Before half time Morton enjoyed a lot of possession but Alveston battled well. The Alveston defence of Alex Hill, Bret Day, Harry Collinge and Nathan Mylchreest all played extremely well. Edward Beighton had another outstanding performance in goal. In the second half Olly Bell and Will Foley dominated for Alveston down the left, creating plenty of service for Striker Kane Knight who came close to scoring several times. Dominic Owen-Smith made another valuable contribution on the wing.
